This article became very interesting once i began to read it. Ai WeiWei is an artist from China who also has a blog which reveals his stong opinions on the Chinese government. He feels he has the right to post his beliefs about his government and tell the other people of China what the government is actually up to. But what he has been posting recently on his blog has been getting himself in trouble. So much so that he is being held by the government in jail while some of his art is being released to the states. Wow. The ideas expressed in the article (and by Ai) are astonishing in my opinion. To be able to see something like the Olympic staduim and call it a democratic representation? That's empowering to an artist. Then again, an "artist" is really an individual who sees the real world in an almost poetic style, constantly aware of nuances and shades of meaning. Ai has developed his gift of artistic vision and wishes to share it in a society that would rather throw him in jail to keep him quiet. Fascinating.
